Cathy Lepik began her writing career as a newspaper sports reporter. After way too many Friday nights and weekends spent on high school sidelines, she took the leap into advertising copywriting. Her television, print, and radio campaigns garnered national and international awards, including The One Show, Clios, Radio Mercury Awards, Effies, and Andys.
Now a middle grade author, Cathy hopes to spark curiosity and wonder in young readers by creating grounded stories with a touch of magic. Her manuscript, THE ORDER OF ORDINARIES has won first place in the Children’s/Young Adult Fiction category of the 94thAnnual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition, and was awarded runner-up in the all ages/all genres Book In Progress category of the 2025 Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Society’s Faulkner-Wisdom Competition. The mom of three almost full-blown adults, Cathy grew up in central Texas but has spent her adult years in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, where she lives with her husband and quirky rescue pup, Stevie Licks. She is represented by Lori Steel.
